
The Drink, Drive, Destory poster/flyer is to be used in an upcoming NOW magazine advertisement during the holiday season. To appeal to NOW magazine’s target audience 18-25, I was able to do more with expressive typography. The task was to use the rhetoric of pathos to convey emotion in the design. Drinking and Driving is a heavy topic and many people have been effect by it. The emotion I wanted to convey was shock and fear. I did this by using heavy contrasting colours like black, white and red. These colours also gave the vibe/feel of fear. Playing with the typography the words Drink and Drive crash into the words Destory mimicing cars crashing into an object. The word Destroy is broken up, using this as a metaphor for broken glass, as well as the arrangement is suppost to connotate the scewing of spinal cords which are the result of many drinking and driving accidents.
